Project Information

  • Location

    Nicholas County Solar Project is located on a portion of a reclaimed surface coal mine off Jerry Fork Road, approximately 9 miles west of Summersville, West Virginia.

  • Size & Acres

    More than 3,000 acres have been secured for the project, which will consist of all project components, including the solar panels, access roads, and other infrastructure necessary for the operation of the facility. The project will likely use less than 1,500 acres for all project facilities.

  • Transmission

    The project will interconnect directly into the FirstEnergy system at the Jones Branch Substation, adjacent to the project.

Nicholas County Solar Project, LLC is proposing a 100 MW solar energy facility in Nicholas County, West Virginia. We are excited to be working in partnership with county officialslandowners to bring Nicholas County residents the opportunity to host a renewable energy generation installation.
